ObLib & ObLibGation.
The ObLib architecture subscribes to the fundamental principle that development of web applications and services are a conjunction of Visual and Backend design, however interlacing the two always proved to be quite difficult.
The utilities required for visual designers to implement functional web applications revolve mostly around the need for visual designers to understand the fundamental principles of PHP (or other programming language constructs) in order to create context-aware websites. Contrariwise, for a programmer to involve themselves with the visual design aspects (e.g.: [X]HTML, CSS) of web application development requires them to enter the realms of visual design principles, increasing their responsibility and adding weight to the likelihood of damaging aspects of a style guide.
The purpose of the ObLib architecture was to not only create an architecture that allowed backend and visual designers to produce work concurrently but also to establish a software development lifecycle modelled from Agile methodologies to decrease workload and increase productivity.
